another police chase another crash. a random intercept CAR CRASHES INTO POWERPOLE FOLLOWING PRESTON PURSUIT SATURDAY, 05 JULY 2014 09:43 Police are currently at the scene of a serious crash in Preston which occurred early this morning. Northcote police attempted to pullover a vehicle for a random intercept on Albert Street about 5.10am. The vehicle has driven off and police have pursued for a short period before losing sight of the vehicle. The vehicle was then located a short time later where it had crashed into a powerpole on Albert Street, south of Tyler Street. The male driver has fled the scene and his female passenger has been taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with life threatening injuries. Police are currently searching for the driver. Major Collision Investigation Group detectives are investigating the incident. As per standard practice, the investigation will be oversighted by members of the Professional Standards Command
