cant quite find the right words for it, but recently thinking something like this almost all the time... you know how there are certain kinds of chemical reactions, maybe like some you did in high school, or with a kids chemistry playset when you were younger, where you can have a solution of something that looks like perfectly clear fluid, harmless as doves, but then you just add one drop of something else, or maybe just disturb the tranquility of the beaker somehow, and the whole thing quickly crystallizes in a chain reaction to something very obviously structured and very solid that could never go back to being soft liquid. im thinking something like that has to happen is human society, basically now. where the solution is the seven billion or so of all of us on the planet that at present have no tangible structure that would allow us to handle the business we most need to handle. the silent precipitants in the solution are the many millions of people all over the globe who are speaking and living by a narrative something like what occupy describes, and who are ready and prepared to live in a new kind of human society. i think what is lacking yet though, and what i am pondering, is the knowledge, like what would be inherently contained in the molecular structure and so forth of the metaphorical solution, of how the geometric self-organization would take place. like...when the signal was given, or the right trigger pulled, what angles should we arrange ourselves in and in what size of clusters...that kind of thing. like, what is the crystalline structure really supposed to look like, and what arrangement will give it its strength and natural integrity. (this is where i also think about the ideas about geometry that buckminster fuller made so popular - geodesic domes and such - simple structures that utilize natural geometry to be much stronger than you would think they have any right to be.) and of course, we are all still waiting for that magic grain of sand, or proverbial shot heard round the world that starts it all. does that make any sense? im really tanatalized by the half-formed mental vision of what im trying to express here...
