from a friend!!!!!.....enjoy.....While away at college, music became a really big deal. I literally wore out In a Silent Way by Miles Davis. It was my escape. Myles (my father) also played trumpet. He and his buddies cut a record with a local big band back in the day. Nights and weekends in smoky clubs with the orchestra kept his love of music and his family alive. It was his necessity. The dusty tarnished horn and recordings are still with me. And so is Dad at 91. Its hard now to leave after a visit with the folks. Pondering all of this over my morning Earl Grey led to a little net surfing, where I found this golden piece by the late great Chet Baker:
