Thank you I would like to share here with all of you what we have been going through here in pacific intrepid at champion 7 offshore and hoping that someone there in onshore could help us, we the construction crew here except for the staff and all bosses here are not happy, some of us could even say that we are like prisoners here, let me explain in details to make you understand why we are saying this. Ample man (GANG WAY MACHINE an access way from barge to platform and platform to barge), This ample man is running by high pressure hydraulic machine and it is only operate during 6am to allow us crossing the platform, 30 minutes every break time to the barge, one hour lunch and 6:00pm to the barge, in normal operation only 20 people can transfer one by one in to the platform and it takes more than 5 minutes to cross for the 20 people. The 200 plus POB here will take half an hour to transfer into the platform as well as to bring us down to the barge. But Sometime when it breaks down, then we have to use the small boat to send us to the barge or the platform. Every time that we have an emergency or fire drill this machine could not pick us all in time because it is limited. In a matter of fact if there is a real emergency like there is a gas leak or fire then 90 percent of us will die on the platform because we could not go down all together at the same time to the barge. Today some of the hindu here, they eat only rice because the only food remain in the mess hall is just meat which is forbidden to them, the Muslim crew who used to pray on time every Maghrib was prayed nearly 7pm because the superior from this barge asked the night shift crew to go up first while we are waiting at the platform and the dayshift especially the last queue went down to the barge quarter until 7:00pm, they could leave the platform, Some of us couldnt even take their dinner because the mess hall is closed before 7:00pm. I don’t even understand why waste so much money on this ample man? they said that it’s for time keeping but people have to queue up early every lunch and 6pm because if you are on the last queue then you will have to wait there for half an hour and another half an hour to queue at the mess hall. every time when people push each other on the queue line, they said that we have to queue properly. If it is for safety to avoid the old gang way which we used to swing by the rope then how about the outstation crew going to another platform using small boat and the same swing rope they use to jump into the boat and platform? because every time when there is a rough sea, we could only be able to transfer into the platform. why do we have to pull away from the platform (long line) every time when there is a rough sea? because the barge could might break his anchor line and the ample could not exceed 2.5 miters swell. 12 LIFE SAVING RULES, no one is allowed to break this rule, number one rule, WORK WITH VALID PERMIT, every single machine or any electronic devices must have a permit before using it but why the ample man does not have a permit? Not even a gas detector that they use before they start up their engine. we are working for our country, we don’t even see our family for a month and this is how they treat us here in pacific intrepid. When it is our time to go down to onshore we dont even get paid by the company and sometimes they do not even provide us with mineral water. They keep and hide it below the helideck. Its for their own pacific intrepid marine crew. And lastly, for the past four days, there was a real alarm happened at champion 7 and The superintendent still wants us to proceed to the platform but at that time all the workers in champion 7 had to standby at their own cabins and wait for the next instruction. Hope someone who have the rights to take action on this could read it.
