i dont typically wax religious on my facebook. however, i feel like i need to say something. for the past few weeks, weve been church-jumping. and there has been a fairly dominant theme of the road to heaven -- and that road or pathway or the entryway is always separate and distinct from the the road to hell. i find it difficult to understand how the bible tells us that we are not of this world, but live IN it, and then preach about how separate we are because we chose the correct way. a few months ago, a friend told me i shouldnt have non-christian friends, that i shouldnt, shouldnt, shouldnt - the list was super long of things that shouldnt be done. so, today, i propose that this road isnt so much separate and distinct, but part of the wider road - a bike lane, if you will - where we walk alongside those of this world and its easier for them to switch lanes - instead of all of these shouldnts and cants we make it a little easier and a little more inviting.
