it is with a heavy heart that I write this post, I am looking for a temporary foster situation for my cat, Fatty. Anyone who has met him can attest to his undisputed affectionate nature. His breed (maine coon) is known for being loving and social. Recently my dog moose has been kind of a jerk to him. Fatty never provokes or instigates him, in fact they used to playfully wrestle together, but i think the size of my apartment is not allowing them personal space for each other and is causing Moose to be territorial. Moose can only do so much when it comes to REALLY hurting Fatty, but when Fatty puts his claws out in defense, they are very sharp, and Moose has been getting pretty badly cut up on his face around his eyes. So far, it has been pretty superficial, but I just fear that hes going to catch one of his eyes one day and cause an emergency situation, and possibly even his eyesight. I love both of my pets equally. I only chose Fatty for a temporary home over Moose because cats are naturally more independent. I will be looking for a new home soon, to accommodate both of my boys, Im hoping not more than a few months. I would prefer a situation where I personally know the care taker, and could possibly visit with him, and he is a part of my very small family. Its been just the 3 of us for 2 years, and it really breaks my heart to separate. In addition, I would hope that Fatty is the only pet. I realize that is kind of a lot to ask, but i feel as though he has really been through enough stress, and adjusting to a new home would be difficult to begin with, let alone the fear of other animals. Please comment if you have any questions, suggestions, or if this is something youd be interested in helping me with. Again, this is a TEMPORARY foster. Thank you.
