let me just get ahead of this whole jennifer lopez is the next feminist messiah nonsense with this: objectifying men the way that women are objectified within patriarchy doesnt make you a feminist. it DOES, however, make you a great candidate for a course on feminist thought. yes, a course. the same way that the black panthers educated the black community about the conditions of our oppression through community teach-ins, so these fake feminist pop stars need to #OccupyASeat in the nearest classroom, crack open a book, engage in dialogue with experienced and well-read feminist peers and instructors to learn about the discourse they are superficially referencing and pimping to sell records. Gloria Anzuldua, Cherie Moraga and Ana Castillo would be a great place for Lopez to start. PS-Not mad at the video, its cute!
