life out of balance....feeling too stressed..we need to redress the balance....essential to take time out. most things that seem essential really arent, or can wait. slow down...rest..small mindful tasks or other relaxing activies.Do something that you like. If anxiety arises, first acknowlege it. If it is situational then face the situation...breathing or meditation can help calm beforehand. if the anxiety is generalised,then check out these websites and explore techniques for generalised anxiety. Also talking to the right! friend or counseller very helpful. Awareness is the first step to healing...then the action that best works for you ( learning greater vigilence and nipping in the bud as time goes on, rather than setting yourself on a downward spiral path, ever harder to climb back up. ).It is very hard but doable, keep at it and dont give up hope, it will get easier.... and like with most things gets better with practise. It is the same for depression, go for a walk, talk to someone, do something creative. They say action for anxiety, creativity for depression. In a crisis temporary medication can be necessary, provide important respite...but longer term it masks symptoms and is not a cure. Change what we do and the way we do things, and above all how we think.....a negative thought?! stop right there and replace with a positive...e.g. replace you are a bad person with you are a good person and back up with all the good things you can think of. Thoughts, like words are very powerful. They affect how we feel. Positively empower yourself! And more powerful still, replace You with I when talking to youself. amazing when we get the knack. Likewise, with generalised anxiety, it is possible to get to a point, again thro awareness and vigilence, to be able to breathe and talk your way thro it, the minute it surfaces, and literally send it packing before it takes hold. The challenge of change and maturity is a challenge that faces us all...it starts with blaming others...moving on to blaming self...and then to taking responsibility.There is no blame , no shoulds just taking responsibility. For some it is much much harder than others and its ok to accept that we cant do it alone and to ask for help.You are important, your life of great value...even if you dont quite realise it yet. We are all human, we all make mistakes, we all do the best with what we know and think! at the time Be kind to yourself...believe....forgive....love.
