like a dream... in the morning the house was really quiet... in the stillness, the sounds of crickets & cicadas dominates he could never tell their differences... it is quiet as before...not that thats bad by itself... but as a matter of contrast ! the grandchildren have gone home now... for 2 weeks, the house came alive with their chatter, natural laughter even screeches & screams ! they like rising up early... the meals together starting with a hearty breakfast in fact, every meal was hearty... its infectious to witness, and a joy to behold happy dining... the outings dominated by the great outdoors & actitvities ~ included parks, farms, zoo & beaches... unusual events like the go-kart track, the first on a golf course fishing on the wharf altho not exactly fruitful...altho another 1st experience there were lots of indoor games too : straight 4s, the ball gobbler, automated monopoly, bubble blowing, water bombs, ginger bread house making, chalk drawings on the decks ~ not one dull moment ! it was a precious time albeit abit too brief... they shall be stored in the precious memory bank ! all too soon the 2 weeks was over he misses them ! but a kungfu man doesnt cry... he remembered first planning it some 6 - 7 months ago the wait seemed so long then but it gradually got shorter & sooner... then it was here, and all too its over... well, thats life aint it ? 13 years ago, he figured out when hed get his pension at 65... it seemed a LONG time into the future... next thing he knew ~ its here !!! time & tide awaits no one... time marches inexorably on... whether one is paying attention to it or not... in fact, isnt life just like that too ? all too soon he is in the eventide of life into the final lap ! ! but be glad for he has lived... thro joys & sorrows thro experiences sweet & bitter had some hard knocks... but overall he has survived ! the good book says the life of man is 3 score & 10 or 4 score... he is surprised he got to here ! hes own target is 70... dats not far off at all... after that, its injury time... any thing more shall be treated as a bonus ! dats not being melodramatic... dats being real ! and if he sees God...hereafter... hed surely have alot of questions for him... https://youtube/watch?v=HUZMDF3mLBw btw he loves his children... and now that 2 of them have children of their own maybe theyd begin to know that thats how much he loves them ~ AS they now love their own children now...
