notes the following ascent/climb/elevation gain stats from Garmin for the FOUR road marathons I ran this year; Perth 135m Melbourne 164m, Rottnest 232m Perth City to Surf 42.2km is 432m. Melbourne lot of downhill, Rottnest lots of small downhill and uphill, the midgies, and plenty of camber in the road so hard to get rhythm for me. Perth C2S some significant downhill, but first 21km very flat and good for settling into rhythm as is the Perry Lakes section and similiar to Melbourne a downhill finish after a late big hill. The 6inch 46km trails race has in past years been 1000m+ elevation and 6 foot 45km trails race about 1600m elevation. The change in 6 inch course this year after 8 years of the same course, means the distance may increase slightly and the elevation gain might drop below 900m... Was fun exploring Mt Ommanney and 500m of the Kep Track last night. Recognised the bridge over the Avon River from the Kep Ultra photos this year...
