on 5th of june i was driving towards mohali.it was hot humid sultry afternoon.I was stunned to see few young girls[the temprature was 45 degree]on their bicycles,going to attend training session at hockey nursery at Shahabad markanda.The astroturf at the nursery was being cooled by sprinklers set.This is the 'junoon'which is neccessery to achieve in life.In this scorching heat the girls were reaching the ground at 3.00 pm.I am great fan of hockey, played hockey at school level.The lower middle class,poor people the peasants still have love for hockey.What Mr.Baldev Singh the coach,mentor friend,philospher and guide, can prepare olympian and world class hockey players why not others.The shahabad girls if play for one team can be world beaters.they can beat any team in the world.The hockey is not sole prerogative of punjab and jharkhand.The talent lies everywhere the point is how you scout it.provide a coach with fire in heart people will play hockey and the glory can be restored.It is time that industrial houses should industrialist sponsers hockey nurseries .
