All the circumstances point to that issue being a fact. Delloitte video says it with full force. Long back, there was a survey which rated Aussies as damn complacent which led them to under performing while other nations like China, India, Indonesia and the likes progressed despite many a shortcoming! Classic case of such misplaced policies were like offering tax payers money to Car makers which were making losses. In India itself, we public are in principle against any state support to Public owned companies; pvt sector getting govt money is literally unthinkable. In Australia however, it has been the case for long. Signs of reversal of such state support to loss making ventures now seem a reality! Govt now seems to have hit the realisation button that competitive spirit has to be promoted in every sphere with ease of regulations. Thankfully, we could see some action on this front: like Australia finally closing ranks with India on many an issue including the Uranium sale, which can fetch billions of dollars; and entering into Free trade agreements with many other nations for its portfolio expansion. If things went at this speed and govt succeeded in its agenda to liberalise Australia for more investments, it would mean good times for this resource rich nation! Pray for their happiness!
