proverbs 14:30 14:30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh; More envy rots the bones. One of the greatest sins of society, and one of the most common, is envy. It is a low and despicable sin. Envy means to look with ill will to another person. The dictionary defines envy as well: sadness or regret for the good of others; feeling of animosity against possessing one thing that we do not possess. Emulation: Passion of the soul which incites to imitate and even overcome the actions of others. Therefore it can be said that envy is sorrow, disgust, dasasosiego, discontent and fear because of anothers property. Envy is paired with jealousy. They have a strong affinity and are rarely separated. However, they can be distinguished from each other. We jealous of ours; envy the possessions of others. Jealousy fear losing what they have; suffers envy to see what others have. Envy is not limited to certain groups of people. It is amazing to note how this deadly sin exists in the hearts of men and women from all walks of life. This detestable evil appears on the preachers, doctors, lawyers, politicians, bankers, businessmen, teachers, singers, musicians, athletes, as well as the opportunists, which occupy positions in churches, and members thereof. If envy only serve to spur our ambition towards the well, to achieve higher ideals, then it would be something recommended; but usually the opposite is true. The Bible has much to say about the sin of envy. It is classified in the impious companies injustice, fornication, wickedness, greed, murder, strife, deceit, backbiting, hatred of God, disobedience and lying. (Romans 1: 29-30). What Are Some Of The Effects Of This Sin Of Envy? Jealousy makes the person does not appreciate or enjoy what you have. There are many people who do not appreciate nor dsfrutan of what they own because theyre jealous of what others have. Envy is the root from which springs sinful greed. The Bible clearly says: You shall not covet (Exodus 20:. The covet what others have or envy brings only misery. Makes one blind to what one owns. The Bible says: Galatians 5:26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. 37: 1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 37: 2 For like grass they shall soon be cut, and as the green grass was dry. Proverbs 23:17, not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the time.
