rk-world.org/cofounder.aspx Today is the 56th anniversary of the passing of Reverend Myoko Naganuma, the co-founder and first vice-president of Rissho Kosei-kai. She was born in Saitama Prefecture on December 25, 1889. She had a hard life -often sick and bed ridden, yet she did not let that stop her from following the Lotus Sutra. Myoko-sensei was a devoted follower of the Lotus Sutra and experience much joy in sharing the Dharma with others. At times she could be harsh, but this was out of deep compassion. Together with Founder Niwano she helped to build the foundation of Rissho Kosei-kai, which would allow it to blossom into a worldwide community. On September 10, 1957 she passed away from the effects of a blood clot in her brain. On her annual memorial day let us all reflect on her life and contributions. Namu Myoho Renge Kyo!
