saw “The Grand Budapest Hotel”; I shamefully must confess that I’m not fluent in the works of director Wes Anderson – yet purely based off plot alone, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” is my personal favorite. From the beginning of the film you know the conclusion – that Zero (F. Murray Abraham) became the owner of the hotel. Hence, while you are taken through Anderson’s quirky adventure, which reminisces in the style of a 1950’s Looney Tune short – you can anticipate the conclusion. Where as “Fantastic Mr. Fox” (2009) or “Moonrise Kingdom” (2011) seemingly get more bizarre as the story goes on to the extent of disinterest – “The Grand Budapest Hotel” at least reassures the audience of the outcome. The celebrity cameos are more fun, the humor is more enjoyable, and you have the freedom to loose yourself to the quirky scenarios.
