yes , to an extent , till we havent changed the system of assessment marks will matter ...But then even in this system , we are given exams to asses oneself and the learning of the theme ,ryt ? We give exams to asses our learnings , we dont learn to give exams ...... Then is it ryt for the teachers to make the learning completely exam oriented ? For eg- Almost every teacher very frequently uses the statement This question is very important and usually comes in exam . Even while teaching concepts , the teachers point out You will just get question of this type in your exams so no need to practice the other questions of the later half of this concept And especially for english , which is a language not a subject , you would agree ryt ? The teachers teaching english as a subject not as a language will make you equipped enough of getting good grades , but cant help your improve your language . For instance , my English teacher gives us POINTS TO REMEMBER , FLOW CHARTS etc to help one memorise the blood relations , age , professions and other fatcs of the characters of the literature chapter ...However I have serve failure in understanding what does a literature chapter -to improve ones langauage skills have to do with factual memorization . I am not against question answers , as I feel even writting then one gains excellens over writing skills . Unfortunately today even that is rotted with a ncert -text soltuion books in every second or rather every students bag . They copy the answers and then rote learn them for exam , completely dismantling the purpose of comprehension and writing . In such a scenario it becomes though very necessary to realise how important it is to focus on creative and writing skills rather than finding numerous ways of making one memorise the chapter . I guess you would have agreement here ryt ?
