Subdivided to four types: a- Serrated suture: the edges of articulate bones irregular in shape and interlocked between them. Such as interfrontal (between left and right frontal bones) . b- Squamous suture: the edges of articulate bones are thinner and they overlapped on each other. Such as suture temporal with parietal bones . c- Plane suture: the edges of articulate bones are straight smooth or rough. Such as internasal (between left and right nasal bones). d- Foliate suture: one edge of articulate bone fit inside fissure of adjacent bone.
