Description Leading travel trade media company Travel Weekly Group has a rare opportunity for an editor to join its London team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all editorial content within travelGBI, the leading B2B monthly newspaper for the domestic and inbound travel trade. The role will also involve a review of travelGBI’s output in print, online and face-to-face and the development of an editorial strategy in conjunction with Travel Weekly Group’s editor-in-chief and managing editor. TravelGBI was established in 1977, and was acquired by Travel Weekly Group in June, 2014. Although this is primarily an office-based role, there will be some UK and occasional overseas business travel involved. The successful candidate will also be expected to regularly attend industry events in the evenings and occasionally at weekends. Skills and experience A talented journalist and a gifted communicator; enthusiastic, tenacious and opportunistic by nature. You will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and be motivated by success. At least three years experience in a senior editorial position on a website, magazine or newspaper A proven track record of delivering outstanding editorial content A cool head under pressure and the ability to turn around copy at speed for both web and print A friendly and outgoing personality - the successful candidate must be able to relate to a huge cross-section of the travel industry and build a strong network of contacts Exceptional organisation skills Commercial awareness relating to activity across the portfolio Previous travel industry knowledge is a bonus, but not essential In return, you will have the chance to cover a vibrant, fast-paced and sociable sector and work with an award-winning team of journalists within the Travel Weekly Group portfolio.
