واشنطن تايمز: جنود أمريكيون جاهزون للانتشار بمصر لـ «مكافحة الشغب والمظاهرات»!! - نشرت صحيفة «واشنطن تايمز» اليوم -الجمعة ٢١يونيو ٢٠١٣- أن مجموعة من الجنود الأمريكيين تتجهز وتستعد للانتشار بمصر لمدة ٩ أشهر في عملية لحفظ السلام والحد من أعمال الشغب والمظاهرات. ذكرت «واشنطن تايمز» أن أعداد الجنود تقدر بما يزيد عن ٤٠٠ جندي أمريكي تصل إلى مصر كجزء من القوة الدولية لحفظ السلام، وأن مهمتهم ستكون في تأمين النقاط الأمنية بسيناء لمنع أية اعتداءات على معاهدة السلام بين مصر وإسرائيل. وأضافت الصحيفة أن هؤلاء الجنود مُصرح لهم بالاشتباك إذا وصلت المظاهرات وأعمال الشغب إلى النقطة التي تهدد أمن إسرائيل. وقد اشتملت تدريبات هؤلاء الجنود على كيفية التعامل مع قنابل المولوتوف. وأضافت الصحيفة أيضا أن القوة تتكون من جنود من ١٣ دولة بخلاف أمريكا، ولم يتحدد بعد موعد مغادرة هؤلاء الجنود إلى مصر. ولكن مصادر صرحت لـ«واشنطن تايمز» أنهم سيغادرون إلى مصر في وقت قريب. واختتمت الصحيفة خبرها بالقول بأن هؤلاء الجنود قد تلقوا تدريبات لمدة ٦ أشهر في «فورت هود» ومركز التدريب الوطني في «فورت إيروين» بكاليفورنيا. More than 400 American troops will ultimately go, as part of the Multinational Force and Observers peacekeeping force, KDH News reported. Their mission: To man posts and security checkpoints along the Sinai Peninsula. They’re also tasked with reporting violations to the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel, KDH News said. KCEN reported that they will engage if protests and riots reach the point of threatening Israel’s security. Part of their training included how to respond to Molotov cocktails, KCEN reported. The force is comprised of soldiers from 13 nations. Their departure date isn’t yet fixed. KCEN said they will leave in the near future. The troops trained for six months at Fort Hood and at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif., KDH reported.
