Mr Gyanraj Rai is still determined to brave the extreme anguish and torture of the Starvation-Unto-Death and to bring Downing Street to its knees. Support, sympathy and help not only from the Gurkhas but also from the Nepalese residing in the UK including the British people for the campaign has been sky rocketing day in, day out. The Nepalese ambassador to the UK, Dr Sureshchandra Chalise, formally visited the hunger striker yesterday afternoon; British MPS, journalists, Gurkhas and dependents, the British people and interested tourists from around the world have begun to throng the hunger strike premise. In Nepal also, our cohorts have been moving heaven and earth to compel the Nepalese prime minister and foreign minister to take some right steps at such critical juncture at the earliest possible time. Above all, Nepalese prime minister is all the more responsible and has the power, in the capacity of Nepalese prime minister, to do something concrete to save his compatriot’s priceless life who has been sacrificing his life in an alien land for a great Nepalese cause. Reportedly, the Nepalese government held an emergency meeting today regarding the Gurkha Satyagraha Campaign and the on-going Starvation-Unto-Death. Human rights activists have also been approached for support and help from the human right perspective. We held a meeting this afternoon with the shadow defence minister. He has assured us to help us as much as he can. According to the ambassador, Dr Chalise, something positive should come up in the next few days. Therefore, we unanimously decided to organize really a huge mass meeting to show Nepalese Unity in the UK. Even if the Nepalese have been divided owing to various reasons and complexities and sometimes fight among themselves, it is our proud tradition and a part of our culture to be unified and come together when a Nepalese Brethren has fallen in trouble. We can take the vivid example of the recently played SAAF football in the Dasharath Stadium, Kathmandu. At that time all the Nepalese, completely forgetting their controversies and misunderstandings, just wanted to win by Nepal. It was a par excellence of unity ever shown by the Nepalese people. Thus, we are going to organise another glorious, historical mass meeting on 19 November 2013 at King George V Statue at 11am sharp. Unlike in the past, this is going to be an extraordinarily huge mass meeting as this is not only of the Gurkhas but of all the Nepalese residing in the UK will attend it to prove that the Nepalese will also unite to vocalise the issue and defeat the forces involved if another Nepalese has been passing through pang of birth. If a Nepali has been fallen over himself to do something great, another Nepali can’t keep mum and remain a mute spectator. Hence, you all should come to attend the glorious, historical mass meeting; please persuade your friends, relatives, neighbours and dependents, once again for the very last time, to give a few hours for a national cause as well as to save priceless life of the compatriot who has been sacrificing his life for the last 7-days for a national cause directly related with the sovereignty and independence of Nepal and has been braving the extreme anguish and torture of the Hunger-Strike-Unto-Death. The NRNA, UK, the world NRNA, the doctors, the engineers, the nurses and other Nepalese associations working in the UK will also play a pivotal role to display our outstanding unity and solidarity for the first time in our history in the UK. Keep in mind that it is a Nepalese mass meeting; not only of the Gurkhas as in the past. Please circulate this information as widely as possible. And discuss among the Nepalese as to this, phone and text as much as you can to publicize as regards the historical mass meeting of 19 November 2113. We always say that your presence just for a while might help resolve our national cause. We should not be too selfish like the British government if we really want a peaceful and prosperous world-without wars, violence, killing and murdering. We can’t imagine such world by maintaining such glaring discrimination in the twenty-first-century. The British government must internalise the dramatic change that has come over the decades and accept the norms and values of the current age. Although human nature is very unwilling to implement the changes in practice, it must contemplate the serious harms that comes out if we don’t imbibe them and hence must employ them. The traditional mindset no longer works. Please do internalise that our cohort, Mr Gyanraj Rai, is lying hungry with wrinkled face, grey hair and with tears in eyes for the last 8-days for our common cause! Long live the Gurkhas!
