ΩMEGA TAU ∑IGMA PHILIPPINES BRIEF HISTORY The ΩMEGA TAU ∑IGMA fraternity and sorority was first found in WEST COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA (USA) on December 9, 1906 by a group of VETERINARY DOCTORS who were residing in this place. They organized in the first chamber in one of the stateuniversity of South Carolina. From the year of foundation, The OMEGA TAU SIGMA frat/sor successfully made the different chapters in the entire USA. Thus making Woodbridge Avenue Ford, New Jersey a national headquarter of 1958 and a local members of 3,167. Until in the mid of 1960′s two member s of the said organization reached in the Philippines,They came here not for the purpose of spreading the spirit of brotherhood totally but for the purpose of special seminar workshop in the University of Philippines located in Diliman Quezon city. The were William Willes Armisted , a doctor of veterinary medicine and Albert Louise Kleckker an educator. On the first day of the month it is 1961 , they agreed to form a new chapter in the university of the Philippines, And the next day of the plan came to reality. They conducted a One Day Survival initiation. The new survived members were ; Alberto Licaya , Lorenzo Bucay , Ignacio Ignacio and August Rexleg they were both of student of veterinary medicine in the same university. After they survived the four pioneering batch members were briefed by the two founders. They revealed all necessary lectures and secrets in the fraternity and sorority. Three months later on the foreigners left in the Philippines. The first Grand Archon was Alberto Licaya. After two years of existence in the university OMEGANS who were purely students of veterinary medicine they realized they couldn’t have more members if they stick to one course. So by the two third of the members the proposal was carried out. In the year 1971 Patricia Sebos an omegans of UP Diliman came to Siliman University , Dumaguete City to pursue her study at the same time form a chapter of Omega Tau Sigma. Just August 27, 1976 the unexpected birth of Omega Tau Sigma in MSU-IIT was made possible to those Omegans from Siliman University. They were Nicardo Garcia and Alfonso Chan. The memorable visit had successfully recruited new Omegans from school of engineering technology (SET) of MSU-IIT. The Three pioneering members were Roberto Barsaya , Joel Tumaning and Arterio Manreal who were all students of set. They give Omega Tau Sigma another term as “Organizations of technology Scholars”. But later on it hold student talking not only in set but it different colleges. The recruitment was traditionally anticipated the lead to a well organized new chapter. Later in June 1979, (3) three female members organized a chapter in Mindanao State University – Marawi (MSU-MAIN). They were Elizabeth Gonzales, Nora Pahol and Jessie Galario. The first (1st) lady Archom in MSU – MAIN was Nora Pahol. EXISTING CHAPTERS The Existing chapters as of today are found in Notre Dame University (NDU), Cotabato City; University of Mindanao (UM), Tagum, Davao; San Nicolas College, Surigao City; Northern Mindanao Colleges, Cabadbaran Agusan del Nortel; University of Bohol, Tagbilaran City; Don Mariano Memorial Polytechnic State College of Cagayan de Oro City; University of San carlos, Cebu City; Saint Joseph Institute of Technology (SJIT) & Unios College of Butuan City; and others.
