-Press Release Nurse DiVas and Nurse DONS Wellness Foundation presents Nursing a Healthier Community health fair By Tammy Jones, RN, CRRN, CEO March 6, 2014 Columbia, SC- Locally owned non-profit organization announces today it will host a community wide health fair on Saturday, April 12, 2014. This annual event is FREE and OPEN to the public. This event will take place at Hyatt Park (950 Jackson Ave, Columbia, SC), from the hours of 10:30 am until 3:00 pm. Mayor, Steve Benjamin will be in attendance. This years health fair will offer blood pressure, blood sugar checks, spinal screenings, rapid HIV/STD screenings, sickle-cell testing, dental exams, diabetes, prostate cancer testing, disease management education and workshops, breast-self exam instruction, First AID classes, fire safety/prevention workshops, and much MORE! There will be onsite physicians, and nurses assisting in screenings, and will also be available to answer health related questions. Bounce houses, face painting, and ID cards will be available for children. This years event features: health, and life insurance vendors, home health care agencies, a marketplace vendor, retail and food vendors.
