12 Rules for a healthy lifestyle. Part 1 Who doesn’t want a better life? Don’t we all wish to be healthy in body and mind? Don’t we all want to look our best? We want more energy and fun? Of course we all want to avoid diseases and have a good quality of lie. America is a dangerous place to live. Bad health has reached an epidemic. The fastest growing group for type II diabetes is teenagers! Our lifestyles are killing us. Diets don’t work. We are the fattest country on the planet. Two-thirds of us are fat, thirty two percent of us are obese, three-quarters of us never exercise, one-fourth of us smoke (the leading cause of preventable deaths). Each day more Americans die of heart diseases than died in the 911 terrorist attacks. We may walk around and we feel fine, except that we are slow, tired, depressed and sluggish. However, our bodies are being attacked by tiny terrorist that are quietly destroying our bodies on the inside. These internal silent enemies are obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. As we use to say in boxing, “Kill the body and the head dies with it”. All of these things can be corrected with proper food intake. Notice I didn’t say a “diet”? The food industry isn’t helping; they can put anything on their front labels, the FDA doesn’t govern front labels. I believe that 90% or more of all food labels are false. Only in America do people believe that Canola oil which is 100% fat; has 0 fat, 0 calories and 0 cholesterol (Pam spray). Only Americans would believe that that oils and foods as fatty as olive oil or avocado and guacamole are healthy. They are not healthy. Trends and gimmicks come and go. Next thing you know we will pay high amounts for bottled water. Oh wait. Doctors aren’t helping they prescribe pills that have side effects often worse than what they seek to fix. Restaurants don’t help they add the things that we are addicted to and which kill us; processed foods with sugar, salt and fats. When we are healthy we feel...
