7 days until Ruedathon. Tip of the day. This will be OFFENSIVE to some. However, It must be said. No apologies from me, this is truth. Ruedathon starts in Staten Island at 10:30. We are taking the 10am Ferry (yes it is free and yes those out of town ... bring your camera you can take pics of the Statue of Liberty and Governors Island). Please be at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal out front under the huge Staten Island Ferry sign outside between 9:30 and 9:45am. Now for those of you who are BLACK and/or BROWN. Those who hang out with often or heavily influenced by BLACK and/or BROWN Ruedathon Starts at 9am. Be at the Staten Island sign between 9:00am and 9:15am. I am not going to start calling habitual tardy people out (right now)... Im included in this statement because I am Both BLACK and BROWN. I know the problem we have. I OWN and ADMIT it, can you? Yes, Rueda is a Cuban dance, however we will not be on CUBAN TIME! So if you are going to be traveling to Ruedathon with someone who is BLACK and/or BROWN please please please adhere to the time because they will possibly be running late... (IJS I got to be honest). The ferry will not wait nor will we. So those excuses you ALWAYS hear: 1. The trains were running funny (YES THEY WILL, and they always WILL on the weekend). Leave extra early. 2. There was traffic on the bridge (They have only one lane open or the Brooklyn Bridge was closed) YUP it always is on the weekends. 3. My bus did not show up on time. (NEVER DOES, especially on the weekend). 4. The MTA machine only accepted cash and I did not have any. So I had to go to the bank for cash and then get my card. (Yes, it always happens when you are in a hurry and already 10 mins behind) 5. There was only 1 guy at the bodega behind the counter. (Yes, always on a Saturday morning, especially when Cache is have Bachemente every Friday... LOL) 6. My building didnt have hot water. (This is valid.... lol) 7. I woke up late, my clock did not go off. (set you phone as well, and dont go out the night before... rest up) 8. It only take ME an hour to get anywhere in NY. (BUZZZZ, wrong answer, and NO IT DOES NOT.... ) Leave EARLY! OK, so now that I have offended the masses.
