713 days ago I left my Hagia Sofia Chapel for France, not knowing whether I would ever have a Garden, again, not to mention the space for a sacred space. Yesterday we completed our restoration of an old and delapidated Summer House into a shrine. It is a decahedron in shape, symbolic of Malkuth, with a golden cupola and situated in the west end corner of Oak Tree House, our home since October 2012.We started our labor of love on this years Midsummers Day and completed it yesterday, 22 July. We had no idea which dedication our temenos would share this time round ... but, wait a minute, completed on such a special day!!! .. so I am blessed to introduce to you, from this very special corner of SE Wales, a Mary Magdala Shrine to Divine Wisdom ... in Welsh the word shrine highlights the sanctuary aspect ..Cysegr Mair Magdala ...pictures to follow .. the two small figures above the altar is a Celtic Angel from Ireland and a Navajo Earth Mother ... heaven and earth are full of Thy glory ... the small bent Celtic Cross on the altar survived the fire that burnt down the original Soffia chapel ... the cupola looks down on the village of Machen and towards yr Hafren, the Severn River ... symbolic of the fact that through the trials of the last few years nobody lights a lamp and puts it ... a hidden place, rather, it is placed on a lamp stand so that all who go in and out may see the light (GofT.33b) .. the two stags either side of the entrance, a special sign in my native Welsh tradition ... for now Bendith arnoch, Blessings ..Geraint & Ann xxxx
