A challenge with regard to advocating for misunderstood diseases - TopicsExpress

A challenge with regard to advocating for misunderstood diseases on either a societal or personal level: how can we point out errors and injustices without listeners being turned off because we do not seem like likable people? A list of conversation pitfalls that (I do agree) tend to turn people off. 1) Gossip 2) Judging 3) Negativity 4) Complaining 5) Excuses 6) Exaggerating/Lying 7) Dogmatism Some other conversation characteristics that (at least according to this guy) tend to turn people on. 1) Honesty 2) Authenticity 3) Integrity 4) Love (meaning wishing people well) When people have been mistreated for a long time and feel relatively powerless, its hard to stick only with the second group of communications characteristics.
