A few hours after experiencing our very first snowstorm in - TopicsExpress

A few hours after experiencing our very first snowstorm in Ontario, I had to take the children to their weekly church program. The program is known as Awana. Upon arriving at the venue, I parked and made to get out of the car. But a gentleman came towards me. He came out of his car, earlier. It appeared he had been waiting for me and he was holding his snowbrush. The following discussion ensued: Gentleman: Can I clean your backlights for you, please? Me: Oh yeah, please, go ahead and thank you so much. Gentleman: You are welcome! With your lights covered up in snow, I would not want the Police to give you a ticket. Me: Awww … that is so sweet. You must be an angel. Thanks a lot. Gentleman: No, I am a Police Officer. Me (looking surprised): Okay, wow!!!! Thanks again! Can you imagine having a police officer cleaning my car for me and not bothering to give me a ticket? It could only have been God. We ended up talking some more and introduced our children to one another. The incident made me remember that there are certain people I have to thank, as this year runs out. They are just like the Police Officer, who realized I needed help and intentionally went out of his way to assist me. In this year of 2014, many people made it a point to go out of their ways to be kind to my family and I – especially in the aftermath of my brothers death. They made time for us. We received calls from all over the world. A lot of people sent encouraging letters and emails. Some visited us. Some cooked for me, when I just did not feel like going into my kitchen. Some prayed when I simply had no strength to pray – at those times, all I could do was question God. Some sent articles they had written, to cheer me up. Some helped us pack up, when it was time to move from Newfoundland to Ontario. Some gave us the keys of their house to stay when our material belongings had been carted off to Ontario. Some read my “not so fancy” articles and short stories and made a “big deal” out of them. That encouraged me so much! I cannot mention all your names, but you know yourselves. Even more important, God knows you all. As this year comes to an end, I can only say “Thank you”. Thank you for being there, thank you for being intentional, for taking time out of your busy schedules to make us happy. I pray that the Lord will create time for you and grant you all, every single desire of your hearts. I also pray that He will envelope you all with His divine favor and promotion; and prosperity will knock on your doors always. I pray that 2015 will be a glorious year for us all and that we will experience victories on every side, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. By Ibukuolu Ogunsina, joyfulmarriage.org
