ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR FRI., SEPT. 12, 2014 (**New or happening today or tomorrow) ** Attention all students taking the ACT tomorrow! Make sure you bring your ACT admission ticket (with correct name, photo and gender) and acceptable photo identification. No Admission Ticket and Photo ID - no admittance, no exceptions. If you need help with a photo ID, see your Guidance Counselor for an official letter of ID before Friday. All names, photos and gender on all documents must match the testing center’s ACT roster and if you are coming here, Troy High School must be listed as your testing site. Also remember your number two wooden pencils, calculator, and extra batteries. Remember to turn off your cell phones!! You need to arrive at the testing site between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. If you have any questions, see Ms. Carter in Guidance. **Attention Xtreme Bots Team: Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 17th at 4:00 pm at Stillwater Technologies. Please meet at the main entrance, which is behind the building by Interstate 75. If you have not done so, you must have your permission slips signed and turned in by no later than Tuesday, September 16th. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Orsborne or Mr. Clendening. **THS Book Club will meet in the library after school on Tuesday September 16th from 2:45 to 3:15. Anyone interested in participating is invited to attend! For questions, see Mrs. Fultz. **Tickets are on sale at the Athletic Office for the football game tonight. **Good Luck to the Troy High School Marching Band tomorrow night at their first Invitational of the year. Key Club meeting has been rescheduled for Tues., Sept. 16 at 7:15 am in Room 265. If you are interested but cannot attend, please see Mrs. Ernsthausen. Class rings can be ordered on Tues., Sept. 16th during all lunches in the Common and from 4:30-6 p.m. in the cafeteria. A $50 deposit is required to order. Extra packets are in the Main Office. Underclass pictures will be taken on Wed., Sept. 17 and senior pictures will be taken on Fri., Sept. 19. Seniors – Kyle Elementary PTO needs a student who is around 5’4” tall to wear the Kyle Cougar costume when they walk in the Troy Bicentennial Parade on Saturday, September 20th at 4:30 p.m. If you need community service hours, please see Mrs. Hampshire in room 138 for more information. Attention Mathletes: The September Math Club meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 2:45 p.m. – 3:14 p.m. in room 174. Shirts will be online at all lunches for the Volley for the Cure match for the volleyball team. Shirts are $5 each. The match is Tuesday September 16th vs. Butler and is going to be the “Pack the gym” match. You can purchase raffle tickets at the match to win an IPad and other prizes, along with cash. All proceeds go to the Susan Koman for a cure fund. Seniors and National Honor Society Members: There will be a job fair at Hobart Arena on Thurs., Sept. 18. They are in need of students to help and you will receive Community Service credit hours. Time is from 3-7. Please see Mrs. Straughn in the Main Office to sign up. Attention Latin Club Members: Please turn in $5.00 to Magistra Limke in room 250 by Friday, September 19th if you wish to be a member. All upperclassmen wishing to be considered for a senate position need to submit their names to Magistra by Tuesday, September 16th. The next meeting will be Tues., Sept. 16. If you wish to submit a t-shirt design, please do so by Tuesday, September 16th. Please try to attend. Be there or be “quadratus”! Seniors: The first set of college scholarships have been posted to the Troy High School Guidance website. There are four active scholarships listed under the Miami County Foundation. All MCF scholarships are due by November 1st. Increase your chance for a higher ACT score! Edison’s ACT Prep course is now accepting registrations. Cost: $79 The course meets twice a week for four week September 23 - October 16, 2014 and is available at two separate times.
