Admiring Playbill for their Gay Pride Month series, I was so proud - TopicsExpress

Admiring Playbill for their Gay Pride Month series, I was so proud to read this particular piece by my buddy Andrew Gans. (Full disclosure: Andrew was my editor for the 13 years I wrote for Playbill). Whats absolutely astonishing to me is that when THE NIGHT LARRY KRAMER KISSED ME opened in 1992, with myself included you could count on one hand the number of out young actors working in the theater in NYC. Its articles like these that really makes me see how mind-blowing our collective progress over the past two decades has been. And today (!) there are easily 19 MORE out actors working in the biz that this piece didnt even have space to include! (Hello, Neil Patrick Harris!) Just amazing. Thank you Rory OMalley, Wesley Taylor, Nick Adams, Bryan Batt, and all you awesome men. ONWARD with your victorious truths!
