Age 25 - 1998 Im not very articulate, Marie so here goes nothing. I was doing a split 2nd/3rd year at uni, living on campus. So a great part of this year is lost in a haze of marijuana smoke and the brain numbing effects of cheap cask wine. I do remember thinking that this archaeology thing was actually pretty enjoyable, somewhat stimulating intellectually and sorta pretty easy. This all changed a couple of years later. Probably due to increased self-awareness and the lessening of the dunning-kruger effect. Instead it became a massively complex field, of which i was only interested in a small niche, and of which niche i knew suprisingly little. I do recall that this year did involve 2 life changing events. One of which, living on campus, has resulted in me not being able to stand the smell of two minute noodles. This is a good thing. The second, also food related, is due to a field trip where the majority of meals consisted of canned tuna, onion, and vita wheats, due to a freezer malfunction. I have not eaten canned tuna since, nor do i have any plans to change this in the foreseeable future. Thats about all i can recall for this year. No major rites of passage kind of things. Not unless you count playing endless hours of warcraft II on a pentium 133, downloading mp3s on irc hosted dcc servers and discovering my inner nerd.
