April: My Mom has asked me to passed along how much she has appreciated the visits, the cards and the candy she has received. Many thanks! My Mom had her care meeting today with the staff at Regency. A handful of family was able to attend. The main takeaways from the meeting were: our familys concern that still the nurses are assuming her pain medication dosage versus actually taking a moment to ask her if she needs it, how long the wound management team has taken to respond to requests for assistance (on the wound vac) and the goal date to transition my mom to home is October 16th. This date is not set in stone as she could do so well they release her early or she may need extra time for an unforeseen bump in the road. It is merely a goal to strive for. Of course insurance and medical changes (hopefully not) could alter this projection. Today in PT she was able to walk with a walker further than she has been able to. She also was able to get herself fully dressed on her own. All good things! Thanks again from not just my mom, but from our family on the thoughts and prayers.
