As this is written, the U16 are just kicking off at Ramsbury so fingers crossed they can get their first win for Mike. In the games already played, another fine performance by the Kielty inspired U11s saw them win 11-3 against league newcomers FC Calne. The team had the luxury of having 2 subs after having none for last weeks game. Hat tricks plus more, were rattled in by Joe and Jake as well as an eye catching display by Ella. The U10s march on after a comprehensive 9-1 result against Shaw Cubs. Some superb passing and interplay produced some finely taken goals. The highlight of which was a powerful run and finish by first half gk but 2nd half striker Harry, who latched onto one of the many impressive defence splitting passes. The goal was celebrated by a huge roar from the U10 parents and also the more vociferous U11s who had stayed to support their training partners with rousing renditions of Come on you Reds!!. The fine passing of the U8 team continues to be an impressive part of their displays in what is the teams first taste of competitive football. A 6-3 loss was testament to how they are progressing and improving with experience. This team is a talented group of players and will get better and better as the season progresses. The team can take heart from the U10s who only won 1 game all last season but have won 3 out of 3 this season.
