Asad Jamal: I dont think its a decent document. And Ill be repeating myself any constitution which discriminates against its ethnic, religious and other minorities cant be decent. We do need to change it. Now I am not suggesting that it must be changed overnight. Thats not possible because ours is now a deeply divided society. But we need to discuss and debate the problems. Perhaps, we can incrementally improve it and make it more acceptable. through the 2nd amendment we paved the way for discrimination and religious intolerance toward Ahmadis. Constitutions are not supposed to reflect majoritarian hegemonies. The sooner we reach the stage of getting rid of such anomalies the better. Then Our Constituion says that non-Muslims cannot be prime minister and president. Why do we need to have such a provision? Are we afraid of the minorities or are we scared of ourselves that we not elect a non-Muslim? each and every clause which discriminates or leads to discrimination must be repealed. herald.dawn/does-pakistan-need-to-rewrite-its-constitution
