Assistant Material Planner / Buyer-Vee Pak, Inc. Duties 1. Purchase raw materials to meet production requirements. 2. Experience in packaging materials ~ labels, bottles, corrugated, etc or chemicals for health and beauty industry a plus. 3. Review safety stock levels, and adjust as needed to meet cost and service goals. 4. Responsibility for complete P.O. Cycle a. Create P.O. b. Ensure compliance against pricing targets c. Ensure closure of P.O. 5. Maintain BOM and MRP system operating parameters. Knowledge of MRP & parameters. 6. Coordinate inbound logistics. Work directly with carriers and suppliers. 7. Meet performance metrics of on-time delivery, production adherence / attainment, quality, standard costs / price point variance targets, and service goals. 8. Maintain relationship with suppliers. 9. Backfill into other supply chain roles as needed. 10. Support other supply chain groups, manufacturing, and customer service in meeting company and customer goals. 11. Complete analysis of processes & procedures and utilize Lean-SS type techniques to create continuous improvements. 12. Participate or create cost saving projects. 13. Conduct cycle counts and assist with materials loss root cause analysis.
