Bethel means the house of God (Gen 28:19). It is a place of refuge for Jacob (whose name became Israel) and to his descendants, the children of Israel. it is not within Jerusalem the chosen city of God but at bethel, men also find peace. The presence of God carries grace. The grace He released in bethel made the land glow. But when Jeroboam became king over Israel, he erected idols in place of God in Bethel for he feared that the children of Israel may return back to Rehoboam if they go up to Jerusalem to worship God in the Lords house. 1 Kings 12:25-33. This step taken by Jeroboam brought darkness upon the land and God moved to restore Light just like it went in the beginning, Gen 1:2-3. God sent a man whose identity was not mentioned to go for Him. 1 Kings 13:1-3. There are just few things i will like us to know here at this point to be of guide and help to many of us still seeking clear direction on our callings and purpose in life. * God always sent us to areas of life that darkness is taking over. * if God is sending you on a mission, He will as empower you with all the necessary tools/gifts you need in such area. This explains why some men of God find themselves struggling to do certain things. * There is a special grace in your area of location. * Gods instructions usually look or sound funny at the beginning * Our calling are unique. Everyone has his own special task assigned to them. 1 Kings 13:15-25. * You can never be too sure of messages concerning you coming from another person, whether the person be an anointed man of God or not. But you can always be sure of that given to you by God. God can reveal Himself or His plans for you in different ways, through vision, dreams or direct word from Him. Messages from people most times are to give you a confirmation. Is the Lord sending you somewhere and you turned it down because somebody gave you a different message? Or maybe because you see food and material wealth there? Take a pause this hour and consider how dark that zone is becoming or the lives perishing because of your failure. The mercy of God is very much abundant now, run back to Him. Remember, time is never owned by anyone. Soon your end shall come. Remain blessed
