And didnt the Republican Governor and the Republican Legislature cut off funding to the city? When a city loses 90% of its tax manufacturing base due to Republican policies, a city cant survive. Governor Snyder forced Detroit into bankruptcy so he could help out his corporate friends and privatize public assets. Republican policies and market forces had a major impact on the city.
