Buccaneers coach Roger de Sa: “You know, Mabena has got things you can’t teach. He’s got unbelievable speed and skill, and he shows that at training all the time. “I know that in matches he’s been very inconsistent, and if I look back, I had an experience with him in the Telkom Knockout Final when I was at Wits in December 2011. They beat us 3-1, but it could have been six – Mabena missed two one-on-ones. “At training he does unbelievable stuff, so we believe that he will turn the corner. I certainly hope he’s not just going to be a ‘sparring partner’ at training. “There is a lot of pressure on him. The Pirates jersey is heavy – some people carry it, but some can’t. I still feel Mabena can carry his Pirates jersey. He works extremely hard and he is well-mannered. “When you ask him to come off, he sprints to the touchline, so he’s a genuine club man. In South Africa, we are quick to praise a player, but just as quick to knock him down. I’m saying let’s be patient.”
