Bureau of Meteorology Queensland Regional Office TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - SOUTHEAST QUEENSLAND for DAMAGING WIND and LARGE HAILSTONES For people in the BRISBANE CITY and parts of the LOCKYER VALLEY, LOGAN CITY, MORETON BAY, IPSWICH CITY, SCENIC RIM, SOMERSET and REDLAND CITY Council Areas. Issued at 4:59 pm Wednesday, 14 August 2013. The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 5:05 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near Fernvale and the area northwest of Cunninghams Gap. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Rosevale, Lake Manchester, Upper Brookfield and Enoggera Reservoir by 5:35 pm and Brisbane CBD, Harrisville, Camp Hill and Enoggera by 6:05 pm. Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely. The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 4:30 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near Lowood and Greenmount south of Toowoomba. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east southeast. They are forecast to affect Lake Manchester, Fernvale and the area northwest of Cunninghams Gap by 5:00 pm and Rosevale, Harrisville and Wacol by 5:30 pm.
