Coming up to Xmas, people LOVE gifting puppies as a present. There are two parts to this post- the first being that DOGS ARE FOR LIFE, not just Xmas, please remember that youre bringing a living creature into your life that needs love, attention, feeding and care. Realise that pets cost more than just the price tag- they have vet bills and registration fees and good quality food. You cant blame a dog for bad behaviour. Its ownership. Its up to YOU. The second part, is if you DO decide to get a family dog this Xmas, why dont you adopt? There are dogs in shelters all over the world who need a home. They may have been surrendered due to unforeseen circumstances... But more often than not, its irresponsibility, a lack of proper dog education (for the owners!), and that old excuse I dont have time (friggin MAKE time).. Or the saddest of the lot are dogs that have been abused and are rescued by the pound. Charlie was abused, and thats how she found her way into our lives. Hank was neglected and was rescued by @madameleash and thats how he came to be ours. And Holly was going to be shot when they found out she was deaf...But they had mercy (wow!) and decided to surrender her. And would you look at them? Happy as Larry! So this Christmas, #adoptdontshop and give those pups a second chance. You wont regret it (and in those moments where it seems too hard, all you have to do is look at that little face, deep into those eyes, and know that they are saying thank you for saving my life. #charlieandhank #hankandholly
