Crimes committed at the bar as observed by a former barman: 1. Shouting Oi You mate, or some other delightful expletive at the barman. 2. Asking the barman to surprise you with a drink - Pint of urine anyone? 3. Not having any means of paying for the huge round of drinks you ordered because you were too drunk to check. 4. Going to the toilet, or to speak to friends when were midway through serving you. 5. Being as drunk as a skunk when youve acted very sober at the bar and then you wonder why we get slightly tetchy when it takes you 10 minutes to pay us when the bar is 4 deep thereby blocking us on the till when we could have been serving somebody else. 6. Paying by card in a very busy bar when it takes twice as long to serve you. Have you never heard of using real money? 7. Thinking well be able to hear your drinks order when you whisper or youre 6 feet away from the bar when weve been subjected to 8 hours of loud music all night. 8. Flagrant attempts to make the bar staff responsible for the disappearance of your drink because you forgot where you left it. 9. Arguing and swearing at the bar staff that youre sober when youve been refused service for having drunk one too many - as if itll get you served! 10. Falling asleep at, or in, the bar coz that doesnt pay our wages, nor does it look particularly attractive to other customers.
