DAY 4 and 5!! Day 4: This day was the best day so far! Everything went right! Unfortunately I had to say good bye to my friend who was going back to Busan. On the convenience store we had breakfast some old ladies talked to me in Korean, I dont get it, but I think one of them wanted a picture with me, ok we took. Then she gave me an apple and wished me something in Korean, I think it was good luck. Then on the roads I saw more bikers than the other days, probably because of the weather and also because I was near a big city (Daegu). So somehow I interacted with a lot of people. Some places around the road they have water stations, and it feels like paradise. Every time I saw one I washed my head and its like getting a continue in the bike game. In one of these stops, 3 older guys approached me to talk. One of them speaks really good English, so we talked a lot. He was amazed about my trip around Asia and also around Korea, they were doing only a 50km from one city to the other. He also went to Manaus (in Brazil) some years ago for business, so he was telling how he loved it. In the end they gave me another apple, and also a termo bottle, with cold water!! :) Later I found a bike certification center, where they have the Korean biker passport. My friend had one, I should have gotten one in Busan, but I didnt know about it before. Its like a passport with all bike roads in Korea, and every now and then there is a checkpoint where u can stamp your passport. If u complete the tracks u get stars stickers. Pretty cool!! Too bad I lost a lot of stamps before... It was the first day I saw a nice sunset in Korea, and it was really amazing!! I stoped my bike and enjoyed it for some minutes... To sleep I had 2 options of cities, one too close the other one too far. Then I found on a Korean app a guest house in the middle, just near the bike road. I headed there, it was a really small and simple village and the guest house was empty.. Just a small dog barking at me. After 10 minutes waiting an old lady came me and put me in a room, good. She was quite funny because she didnt stop talking in Korean with me, asking me questions and so, and I said I dont speak Korean but I think she doesnt get it. So I kept only smiling pretending I was understanding saying ok ok ok and she finally left. I tried to find dinner around the place, but at 9 pm it looked like there was no life on the village. Using Internet again I found a convenience store 2km from there, where some civilization existed, and that saved my night. Day 5: I started early and got to the road. It was really cloudy, what is actually good, because its not too hot and its not raining also. I kept collecting my stamps filling my biker passport. In one of these stops I talked to an older guy and he spoke really good English. He is from the Korean air force and was doing a 2 day trip by bike, to arrive at the other air station to work on Monday. On the middle he would stop at his mom city to visit her. Fair enough! We got the road together for a few hours but then he left me, he is better prepared than me and went faster, to get her mom food hot. I then met 2 Korean guys who brang me to have lunch together. I ate a lot of Korean foods already, but this was the first time eating cold noodles. Its really cold, weird. But it was good. Then we got the road together for some ours also, but we separated. They were going until the end of the river and I needed to leave the river and head to the mountain direction. It was funny because I was following the Nakdonggang river for 4 days already, but couldnt feel its water, they have signs saying its not allowed to swim everywhere. But then today I saw 2 old guys fishing inside the river! Yeah, they were inside the water! So I took my shoes off and put my feet on the water and washed my face also. It was nice to say goodbye to Nakdonggang. For most of the time it was only me and it on the last 4 days. I found another village and tomorrow I may meet the air force guy again to cross the mountain together. After that I have 2 more days to follow the other river which goes until Seoul! maybe I can do it, my body is getting used to all this :) Ah and today I passed the middle of the way, so Im closer than farther!! Day 4: 79km Day 5: 86km
