DOYALSON BUSHFIRE Well its been an incredibly busy 24 hours for Central Coast Rescue Squad and for all other emergency services in the Wyong/Lake Macquarie area. About 5:30pm yesterday afternoon, rescue crews were tasked to assist police and fire fighters with evacuation orders for residential areas under threat from the bushfire that was racing north through bushland that afternoon. After a few hours, crews along with police did all they could with evacuations. They were then tasked to assist council and Roads and Maritime crews with traffic control at road closures in the area. Providing lighting for intersections so motorists were aware of the road closures. After a quick meal break, rescue crews were then tasked to assist with fallen trees on the road so that fire crews and other emergency services were easily able to access the fire in various locations. Rescue crews were released from the scene at around 1am. A great job done by all the guys who helped out on a very dramatic and difficult night. Our thoughts are still will the fire and emergency crews who are still fighting the fire around the area. Take it easy.
