Day 2 My first night camping out and not a good one. It was very cold overnight and I slept badly as a result. I knew it was going to be bad when I saw the snow lying on the ground nearby... We woke this morning and packed away our gear. After breakfast we set off for the days walking. We walked for a total of eleven hours, covering approximately 14 miles. It was very cold all day and very misty. At points others in the group were saying how it was impossible to see anything. As I said to them, nothing is impossible. It reminds me of when so-called experts told Kevin Keegan he couldnt play with five strikers. Where are they now? When we had brief patches where the mist did clear, the views were stunning. The mist did make me nervous though, perfect cover for a troll ambush. Without my poles I felt very vulnerable. We arrived at our campsite at Alftavatn this evening (in English: the lake of fire from where the trolls attack). I feel that I may have another long night due to the cold. There is plenty of snow on the ground, notwithstanding that we are in the middle of summer. Hopefully the mist will have cleared tomorrow. More again tomorrow, danger seekers. justgiving/lucyscharitychallenge
