Day 7 of storms and wasnt really expecting much. Only arrived in Taree yesterday arvo and went straight via SES to help finish of a few outstanding jobs. Then out for lightning shoot (managed some ok ones Ill post at some stage). Then another roof job this morning. Was really excited to chase and was tired, plus still hadnt unpacked anything at new place Im staying (slept on floor last night). There has been a pesky inversion on the MNC inhibiting most chances of storms.. Anyhow after finally putting together some flat pack stuff I went for a smoke and some thickening cloud I wrote off earlier had built into a sweet looking cell.. So I grabbed the car keys and on my way! No radar guidance so I decided to wing it and head up the buckets way to get a closer look! And wow a closer look I got.. This cell was rotating like crazy! With a nice defined wall cloud. I decided to head out towards hillville and got under it briefly with a huge swirling base (two Brief funnels wrapped up) then rain followed by 2-3cm hail and the core hadnt arrived yet.. So I high tailed it to get ahead again but no sooner it pushed over the range it lost its grunt. Followed it for a few km hoping it would reform but alas it didnt. Pulled the pin at possum brush and headed back home rather chuffed :)
