Dedicating this poem…written by me…to all muslim friends as you celebrate Hari Raya….Wishing you all Eid Mubarak and Selamat Hari Raya Puasa The Many Joy of Hari Raya Puasa Looking at the sky, It is a joyous feeling hereby, To see the majestic moon crescent, Marking the Syawal thats so pleasant Long breaks and ‘balik kampung’ fever, Joy and happiness to end never, Family and friends get together, Seeking ‘Maaf zahir dan batin’ altogether. ‘Duit raya’ handed as gift All the kids get a pocket lift Elegant traditional costumes worn Ohh, it could never be better adorn ‘Dodol’, ‘lemang’, ‘ketupat’ so delicious Cooked in this season so auspicious Delightly feast upon by all Young, old, big and small ‘Pelita’ and oil lamps lit at night To enhance the festive sight And so as the night turns darker The sky is colored with firecracker Love, joy and forgiveness, Laughter, delight and togetherness, All these experienced in this season, As Hari Raya Puasa is the reason.
