How To Know When Life Presents You With An opportunity How do I know when I am presented with an opportunity? Lots of people find it hard to recognize an opportunity when life presents us with one because it can be confusing and difficult. Opportunity is often difficult to recognize; we usually expect it to beckon us with beepers and billboards. ~William Arthur Ward But I want to help you out. To build passive income and achieve financial independence then you have to be smart and accurate when it comes to identifying and seizing opportunities. So what’s the proof of an opportunity? It all depends on YOU. Are you surprised? That’s why people find it hard to make the most out of opportunities. An opportunity is a deal that totally depends on you, the results you get are directly proportional to what you have done. Here is a story that would explain this concept to you. There was this animal buyer who went for business as usual but after ten days of searching he couldn’t get any to buy. During that moment of desperation and anger, an elderly man walked up to him and informed him he would like to sell his cattle to him because his wife was sick and so he has to return early the next day. He accepted but he had to count them but the cattle were restless and thirsty.(a challenge) That task was impossible at that night. He informed him that it was till the next day before he was going to count them and pay him. The man pleaded with the animal buyer but he was adamant. By the time he woke up the next day the whole herd of cattle have been sold at substantial profit. He lost that golden opportunity. As you can see, it was an opportunity because it all depended on the animal buyer, if he had decided to buy it at that time the story would have been a lot different. An opportunity is when the outcome of a deal or an event totally depends on you. It is also for a period of time, if not done within the time then you have lost it. Everybody has the opportunity to be saved when alive but many won’t make good use of it, it is when it has become too late they begin to cry. Here Is How You Can make Good Use of Opportunities 1.) Don’t let the fear of the unknown overcome you. Fear is your greatest obstacle to making good use of opportunities in life. You should be confident in both yourself and God whenever life presents you with an opportunity. While the Israelites where scared of confronting their obstacles Caleb and Joshua had made the use of, what fear does is to slow you down and in the process the brave ones go for it. (Remember opportunities are for a period of time as seen above) By the time you decide to go for it you realize that someone else had made good use of it. How This Man Lost A Golden & Precious Opportunity Because of fear Here is a story that I think you’ll learn a lot from. Walt Disney envisioned a park where kids and their parents could rest when they come to have fun but he had a problem: funding. So he informed his friend to buy the land while he goes for other things but his friend didn’t believe in the project. Fear couldn’t allow him see the opportunity that was presented to both him and till to this day that golden opportunity was lost. That park is referred to as Disney land and they amount of income they make is mind blowing you should do yourself a favour by reading more about this issue so you can see how fear of the unknown can make you lose a golden opportunity. You are provided with a lifetime deal but you are more concerned about the “what ifs” without having plans for them. When investors made their money during the industrial age, the dotcom boom, social media and many other cycles others couldn’t make good use of it because of fear: “what if” but with no plan for it. Overcome your fears with both faith and knowledge instead of allowing lifetime opportunities pass you as a result of fear and doubt. Lions never lose sleep over the opinions of sheep!!! 2.) Don’t Make Excuses Instead be Committed and responsible Seize the opportunity: The kingdom of heaven suffers violence and only the violent takes it by force. Summing up, it is clear the future holds great opportunities. It also holds pitfalls. The trick will be to avoid the pitfalls, seize the opportunities, and get back home by six o’clock. ~Woody Allen Below are two proven ways to ensure that you seize any opportunity that comes your way. A.) Take your chances when they come Stop the habit of trying to blames others because as we have seen above it all depends on you. Give it your best shot, it is now or never you know what I mean right. See every opportunity as a world cup final where you take each chance as they come, nothing is too little in the sight of God. Ecclesiastes 9:10 “Whatsoever thy hand finds to do, do (it) with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest”. Life itself is an opportunity as seen in the above scripture so make the most out of it by giving it your best. B.) Get rid of excuses and learn from your mistakes. When peter went to Samaria he might have given an excuse: why should I preach to them since I wasn’t instructed to do so and am also serving at the tables. You need to give up the habit of making excuses if you want to make the most of opportunities. When you see an opportunity don’t allow age, background, skin colour, educational abilities stand in your way as long as you have been patient and prepared take it. It is an opportunity, it depends on you so don’t let trivial factors hinder your progress in life. Seize the opportunity, once more seize the opportunity. 3.) Prepare, Expect and Be Set for Opportunities Anytime Any day Do you know when Jesus would come? I guess no likewise you didn’t know when the last opportunity you made good use of or missed came unexpectedly. One way you can make good use of opportunities when they present themselves is to prepare for them before they come. The secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his opportunity when it comes. ~Benjamin Disraeli Be prepared for anything, surprises can come up anytime even a lost opportunity can present itself again referred to as second chance. As an investor, if you expect the best deals it becomes much easier to prepare for them whereas if you are always belittling yourself you would find it difficult to make good use of opportunities through your negative attitude. You desire to start investing in real estate to make a fortune but you are not prepared for it rather you are complaining, how would you make good use of an opportunity when it presents itself? Be prepared for an opportunity by investing in your knowledge and experience. 4.) Hello, the Race Is Not to the Swift neither the Battle to the Strong. So we have seen three things that must be out in place to make the most out of opportunities but without God it equals zero. You must trust God for everything, as you go out, study, meet partners you must commit it to God for vain is the help of man in times of trouble. Jeremiah 17:6 “For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh” When you don’t trust God you can’t see the opportunities that abound everywhere so in your own interest why not trust God wholeheartedly. There is nothing certain in this world except uncertainty but with God you have a hope, in him you can put your trust in. Where ever you work can’t take you to that where God would continue the whole process. The Endless Circle of great opportunities in Life.
