Dont usually hit into an opinion standpoint on here but I really wanna get this out.. Gotta give full credit to State last night, they beat us with their 3rd string QB. We were unable to execute on offense when it mattered and their D held us to a FG. Cant blame Wallace on the loss, that performance didnt help but this is on the CS. We could have pulled Wallace, we didnt.. we could have made smarter plays (3 & 2 with Nkemdiche in the backfield is as obvious as it gets; 4 & 1 and run it out of the shotgun, not smart).. we should have seen the 4th down Dak Prescott sneak in OT coming, I DID! Cant blame the refs.. most calls actually went our way. Mathers did fumble the drive our FG was blocked (they look at that, its definitely overturned) which would have put State in excellent field position. In a sense, we were lucky to be as close as we were in a game were expected to win. Our offensive game plan has become so predictable (read option, WR screen, occasional hand off to Mathers or Walton, put Brunetti in and everyone knows its gonna be a run and now put Nkemdiche in on 3rd or 4th & short and everyone knows the 290 pound back is gonna get the handoff) its crazy. This HAS been a disappointing season. 2nd year with a new CS yada yada yada.. thats just an excuse weve been using to make us all feel better. Sure we beat LSU, sure we blew out Texas but where was that team last night? We won 7 last year and returned nearly everyone with a top 5 RC.. dont tell me that a break even or 8 win season is an improvement because its NOT! Were better than this, lets show it! We can coach these kids better, lets do it (I for one am sick of all the hype being punched into Robert Nkemdiche when all I see him do is miss tackles and get us boneheaded personal fouls.. can he improve? Of course. Is he playing like the #1 recruit prospect in the nation? No.). Lets go to our bowl, wherever it may be, and lets finish this season right, go into the offseason, make improvements and get ready for next year!
