Dorian’s 101 guide to getting your dream job - When I was 18, I left school with only 2 GCSE’s and had ‘nothing’ going for me. I knew the job that I wanted (Estate Agent) and after sending hundreds of CVs out, I did not get one response. Eventually, instead of giving up, I offered my ‘services’ free of charge for 2 days per week for an Estate Agent who just recently opened a branch as he needed staff and I wanted the experience. 9 months later, I had a job interview with another company. They had interviewed candidates with much more experience than me but as I showed that I truly wanted the role by working for free, I got the job! Now, I have travelled the world working in high end Real Estate all because of that first 9 months. I strongly advise anyone to consider working for free in their dream job as most people take 3+ years of university and do not get the job that they want and I only had to do 9 months. NEVER live an unlived life and if you want change, YOU have to make the change, someone else will not do it for you.
