Environmental News 8.8.13 Part I: Gag Children? Us? Never...Says Range Resources. So, this resource company – Range Resources - puts a gag order on the Hallowich children re the health effects of living next door to a gas field at Mount (un)Pleasant, Washington County, then, when the proverbial hits the fan and people find out about their appalling order, they suddenly came out in full damage control, saying that the family was mistaken and that no such order had been written into the settlement agreement. Coincidently, the aforesaid settlement agreement mysteriously disappeared from court records and the family’s lawyer, Peter Villari, was only allowed to release the settlement’s transcript last week to prove the Hallowiches’ assertions. The transcript clearly showed that the attorney representing Range had included a gag order and a promise to “enforce it,” but Range’s general council, David Poole, said the non-disparagement language in the settlement only applies to the parents. He then also had the gall to criticise Mrs Hallowich for making knowingly false statements about the family’s health problems. EXCUSE ME? SHE lied?
