Episode Two of Ades DAILY Entry!: Captains log star date D-Day Plus One: June 27, 2014. Ok, greetings and salutations all! Well it wasnt exactly all beer and skittles or shits and giggles from when our plane touched down in Kerala late last night. For example, a few wacky nightmare scenarios unfolded that really threw the gauntlet down for us to create a positive response to. To begin with, our driver who was booked to pick us up at the airport, pick up a few essentials and then take us to the health retreat was a no-show. After a few long drawn baited breaths, and some slightly nervy phone calls and texts later, we finally deduced how to make alternative and completely separate arrangements. I kept reminding Kate of how so wry proud I was of her being able to keep so calm and solutions driven in the face of such potentially morale crushing adversity. Bunny in turn kept reassuring me that she thought that it was my external calmness that really helped provide a decidedly zen like soothing ambience and energy. Truth be known though, I just spared a thought for soldiers around the world and throughout time who have to remain calm, keep focused and be disciplined enough to still get the job done - often while simultaneously being under aggressive effective enemy gunfire. So I thought that in comparison to that, what, the hell di I have to be cranky and upset about?! Besides, I had recently read a book by some smart arse tool who carried on about something to the effect of regardless of our situation, it is how we choose to respond that is far more important and defining than the actual situation itself- Or words to that fridge magnet philosophy and Fortune cookie wisdom effect! I think it had something to do with a teeny little book of hope! ;-) Xx And for those who are still genuinely curious about what the hell we are thinking coming here to the Ayurvedic Health Centre where I am undergoing treatment, the actual place is called Vaidyaratnam Moss Nursing Home Ayurvedic Hospital. It consistently gets rated and awarded with prestigious Indian government recognition as an industry leading venue of premiere medical care and wellness.. If youre really keen you can read more about them at their website vaidyaratnam. To wind things up today, Bunny and I had some really productive introductory meetings with some of the key staff including the Assistant Manager for Customer Relations, the chief physician, nursing superintendent and the floor doctors. Today has been deemed a rest day with therapy sessions actually beginning only from tomorrow- and in the tradition and transparent fairness of us all wanting and deserving to be judged only by our merits and results, lets at least give this process at least a fair chance to prove itself first. Dont you all agree??
